On Houston Mesa road, the cabin lies roughly 10 miles from highway 87 near Payson. It’s a very scenic drive and well worth it even if just a Sunday drive.

Along the way Houston Mesa road crosses the east verde river three times, known as the first, second, and third crossings. At each crossing there is parking access for day use only. By the way we offer a pass to anyone that rents our cabin.

The first crossing is a newer concrete bridge built in 1999. The other two crossings are original concrete pads in which you drive through the river. You don’t need a high clearance vehicle. A normal passenger car can make it no problem. Just please drive slow. Winter time is another story for a later date. Please enjoy these photos of the drive .
